US citizens visiting Brazil will need a valid passport and a travel visa.
Your passport has to be in good condition, have at least six months of validity left after your trip, and have 2 blank pages.

2. Gather the Required Documents for e-Visa Stays Up to 90 Days
Before applying for your Brazil e-visa you will need:
- A valid passport
- A recent passport-style photograph.
- A copy of your round-trip flight details to Brazil.
- A signed invitation letter if a Brazilian company is hosting you.
- Your latest bank statement, credit card statement, or paycheck. (Statements must show a minimum balance or credit limit of US$2000, and you may black out your account number for security purposes.)
- If you are traveling for business-related purposes you will also need a letter from your employer.
If you are traveling to Brazil with children, they will also need a valid e-Visa. In addition to the documents listed above, minors will need the following items:
- Original birth certificate and one copy
- Authorization for Issuance of Brazilian Visa for a Minor, signed by both parents
- Single parent on birth certificate: Only that parent’s signature is needed.
- Sole custody: A notarized copy of the custody court order is required.
- Deceased parent: Death certificate necessary.
- For children of Brazilian parent(s): Statement of Non-Citizenship declaring that the applicant is not a Brazilian citizen (does not hold a Brazilian Birth Certificate), signed by Brazilian parent(s).
- Parent photo ID: Both parents’ IDs are required; names must match the birth certificate. If the name changed, provide proof (e.g., marriage certificate or court order).
- The name on the parent’s photo ID must match the parent’s name on the child’s birth certificate. If the parent has changed their name since the issuance of the birth certificate, the parent must present documentation showing proof of the name change (e.g. marriage certificate or court order).
3. Pay the fee
After completing the application and submitting the required documents, you will need to pay the Brazilian government processing fee of $80.90 (US dollars).
4. Download the Brazil e-visa
After paying the service fee, you’ll get an email about the status of your application. When your application is accepted, you’ll be able to download your e-visa right from your email!
You will need to print two copies of your e-visa and show them when you board your flight to Brazil and again when you land (one copy may be kept by the Brazilian customs officer). It’s a good idea to keep a digital copy on your phone, in case of emergency.
