Routine processing at the post office or county clerk is 6-8 weeks at any one of the 426 passport acceptance facilities throughout the state. For an additional $60, there is a 2-3 week expediting option available.

If you need your passport sooner, the only Texas passport offices that process same-day passports are: 

  • The Dallas Passport Agency, located in the Earle Cabell Federal Building at 1100 Commerce St, Suite 1120. This office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday.  
  • The Houston Passport Agency, located in the George Thomas “Mickey” Leland Federal Building at 1919 Smith Street, 1st Floor. This office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.  
  • The El Paso Passport Agency, located in the Anson Mills Building at 303 N. Oregon St. This office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

Appointments are required to use any of these passport agencies.
