If travel is urgent, RushMyPassport offers emergency service options with processing as fast as same day or within 24–48 hours, depending on eligibility and availability. For the fastest service, you’ll need to account for the time it takes to ship your documents to the passport agency and for overnight return shipping once processing is complete.

For example, if you send your documents to us on Monday and they are received Tuesday morning, same-day service means your application is submitted that business day. Once processing is completed, your passport is shipped back to you as quickly as possible. Proof of travel is required for shorter timeframes.

Yes, you have five years from the expiration date to renew your passport as long as it is a 10-year passport (does not include temporary or child passports), and is not damaged.

Some countries require that your passport have at least six months of validity beyond the dates of your trip. If your passport expires sooner than that, it is highly recommended that you renew it now. Some airlines will not allow you to board if this requirement is not met.

Child Passports [child was under 16 when issued a passport] are only valid for 5 years. They cannot be renewed the same way as an adult passport. You must apply for a New Child Passport until the age of 16.

Note: To expedite your child’s passport with our service, please select the "child passport" service for all minors under 16. Applicants ages 16–17 must apply for a new adult passport and may be required to apply in person with a parent or guardian.

Unfortunately, damaged passports cannot be renewed. You must select the damaged passport service, which requests a statement explaining how the passport was mutilated or damaged. Your passport will be considered damaged if it has extensive water damage, torn or ripped pages, unapproved holes, separated pages, a loose or missing cover, or any other suspicious markings. If you are not sure, it is best to apply for a new passport.
