But what happens if your appearance changes? Will you need a new passport photo? According to the U.S. Department, in most cases, the answer is no, but there are specific times when you will need to get a new passport photo.<\/p>\n<div>\n<h2>When You Need a New Passport Photo<\/h2>\n<p>That said, there are some circumstances in which you might need a new passport photo. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/travel.state.gov\/content\/travel\/en\/passports\/requirements\/photos.html\">Department of State<\/a>, &#8220;New photos are only required if your appearance has significantly changed from what is in your photo.&#8221; \u00a0Examples of &#8220;significant changes&#8221; include:<\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;Significant&#8221; facial surgery or trauma. Kids can change a lot in those five years, and that&#8217;s okay. \u00a0As with adults, significant facial surgery or trauma may require a new photo, but normal aging is just fine.
