Some cruise lines may have started requiring passports in advance of the new federal regulations, but the US government is not requiring land and sea travelers to present US passports upon re-entry until June 1st, 2009.

Since air travelers ARE currently required to have US passports, it&#039;s a good idea to have one anyway, in case something happens on your cruise and you need to fly back home.
